Cindy Nell-Roberts

Cindy is a former Miss South-Africa and Miss Universe Runner. This mom of two is also CEO and Shareholder of one of South-Africa’s largest independent cosmetic companies Cosmetix (essence, CATRICE & Caribbeantan); Development Director of Ace Models International; Director of the Women4Women Female Empowerment Organization providing life skills and dignity products to less fortunate female communities. Cindy boasts an array of achievements, including nominations as “Most Stylish Woman” for the You Magazine awards, over 60 magazine covers, local and international modelling endorsements and she is the published author ofΒ  “The Model and Pageant Industry”

Cindy’s passion for the beauty industry aligns very much with her passions during Miss South Africa to help all women feel empowered and uplifted. She is a guru in the field of Beauty, and loves to utilize her platforms to uplift and encourage others with her stories and experiences.

Clive Roberts

Director of BORING stuff

Clive Richard Keith Roberts was born in Durban, South Africa, on 26 July 1971. He is a South African entrepreneur who founded Olive Computer as a student in 1992, which became the biggest reseller of computers in Durban, South Africa.

In 1997, at the age of 27, Clive became the youngest person in South Africa to list a company on the JSE Stock Exchange – MMW Technologies.

MMW Technologies was listed with great success, the share price doubled on the first day. With Clive as CEO and Chairman the share price went on to increase six-fold in the next four years.

In partnership with BOE bank and Transatlantic securities Clive started an internet incubator – Evolve. This company played an important role in establishing numerous and varied internet businesses, ranging from media outlets to credit card verifications. Under Clive’s leadership the company was involved in various acquisitions and mergers, today these companies are all notable on the IT landscape.

After having worked hard to achieve success Clive took a sabbatical and pursued his dream of sailing across the Atlantic. He found a new half-finished 38-foot catamaran in Cape Town and spent many hours working on the yacht. When the β€˜Lioness’ was ready a skipper was hired, and Clive and a friend set off on the journey across the seas from Cape Town to Trinidad and Tabago.

It was while Clive was sailing among the Caribbean islands that he was inspired to create a sunless tanning business, Caribbean Tan. Caribbean Tan became the first company to launch a professional spray-on tanning machine for South African beauty salons guaranteeing a tanning an orange-free tan.

Further to the success of Caribbean Tan, the company grew into other cosmetic products including and the companies name was changed to Cosmetix. A cosmetics manufacturing business and other cosmetic and beauty ranges were acquired to enter the Cosmetix umbrella. The company focused on supplying beauty products to the professional salon market.

Later Cosmetix was to move its focus into the supply of cosmetic products to the retail market bringing in German brands essence and Catrice from Cosnova Beauty, which would soon become the largest supplier of makeup in Europe and South Africa.

While in Los Angeles on business Clive met Cindy Nell. Cindy, a former Miss South Africa and Miss Universe runner-up, television star and model joined Clive in Cosmetix.

Clive and Cindy married in 2009, they continued to grow Cosmetix into the only independent cosmetic manufacturing and distribution business in South Africa. Cosmetix became the largest supplier of makeup to South African retailers. It accounted for an estimated 35% – 40% of the total market share.

Clive and Cindy are the parents of Ethan and Aenea. The family currently live in Cape Town.
